This hand scanner is about three years old and can be connected by USB to a computer. There is no code book with the scanner but it is programmed to read 13 digit EAN barcodes. From memory it is not set to give a line feed which mean the return key on the keyboard must be pressed after each scan in order to scan a new product. It should be possible to obtain a new code book from the maker and then many different types of code and preferences can be set up. When new, this scanner cost around £300.00. As this is a laser scanner, it does not need to be held in contact with the barcode and in fact can be used up to around 12 inches away from the subject.
