EYFS RISK ASSESSMENT

 PORTFOLIO.

I have produced this portfolio in response to the EYFS mandatory requirements that all ofsted registered childminders undertake and keep records of relevant risk assessments.

At present I am enrolled on the Early Years Professional Status Postgraduate Study Programme delivered by Northampton University. One of the requirements of this programme is that I complete a leadership module. To enable me to do this as a sole practitioner I have developed a number of resources to help childminders effectively deliver the EYFS in a home setting. I present these to local childminding groups . My aim is to "help improve the practice of others" which is one of the programme outcomes. I am assessed on my effectiveness in doing this.

I have fully reviewed my practice as an ofsted registered childminder in order to work within the EYFS framework. I have modified policies, procedures and my practice accordingly in order to meet these requirements..

Ofsted report dated 28/01/08:

Protecting children from harm or neglect and helping them stay safe OUTSTANDING
"The childminder has developed comprehensive risk assessments which are extremely effective in identifying potential hazards and the steps needed to minimize the risk to children........Children are kept safe in the event of fire because the childminder has developed very thorough systems and regular practices."
