The disk drive uses the very latest 500GB per platter perpendicular recording technology, enabling massive capacity without increasing heat compared to previous generation disks.
PCClone Backup software is bundled, which responds to a press of the backup button on the front of the unit. The software will then start a backup of the folders on your PC that you have selected. See below for screenshots.
On the front of the unit are 3 USB 2.0 ports, enabling devices like USB2 memory cards, or digital cameras, to be connected to your PC through the disk drive's USB connection.
Prior to shipping we fully format the disk (as a single NTFS partition) guaranteeing that you can plug in the disk and use it within seconds. If you want the disk partitioned into multiple drives, or different formats (e.g. for Apple Mac or Win98/Me), then let us know, and we will do it free of charge prior to shipment.
You can use the disk to capture over 200 hours of DVD video, 38 hours of broadcast quality DV video, 66,000 MP3 songs, 170,000 photos (at 6 Megapixel resolution) or as a massive disk for data or backups.

If you have a USB 2.0 port already on your PC, then there is nothing to do apart from plugging in the disk and turning on its power. Windows plug and play will recognise the disk and it will appear with its own drive letter, just like any other disk.
If you need a USB 2.0 PCI card or a Cardbus/PCMCIA card for your laptop, then checkout our EBay Shop. You will not find a better value solution.
