DESCRIPTION. Estelle Canziani's watercolours and illustrations of fairies command high prices and sell well at auctions and galleries - and this is one of a series of watercolour that she did at Oxfrod. It is a good size with good colouring and subject and signed. Very clean bright colours - lots of detail - within the trees and foliage. Fresh colours Very sentimental yet atmospheric. Nice tonality. A sublime British watercolour - that was an exhibited work at The Little Gallery in Kensigton. This is a particularly fine example of her watercolour and which dates to thr 1920's and which has such excellent authenticity and provenance.

FRAME. Housed in origianl gallery wooden gallery frame 46cm by 64cm.
BIOGRAPHY ESTELLA CANZIONI (1887-1964) Portrait and landscape painter, illustrator and decorator. Daughter of Louisa Starr also an artist. Studied at Arthue Cope and Erskine Nichols School, South Kensington and theRoyal Academy schools. Her picture of fairyies made her particularly famous - one being reproduced in mass quantity which was used as keep safe for troops in the First World War. Made Associate of British Artists in 1919. and RBA 1930.
