ELEGANT ANTIQUE FRENCH ORMOLU CURTAIN TIE BACK HOOKS

This pair of gorgeous antique French ormolu curtain tie back hooks have a superb warm old gold colour creating a delicious faded grandeur that would be perfect for any chateau chic interior.

I have left them just as I found them - having darkened with the passage of time although they would polish if required.

Each hook has an intricate wall mounting plate that carries acanthus leaf scrolls. They have a back wall hook plate and also a small hole for fixing.

The front cartouche features  a beautifull laurel leaf garland embellished with berries. The decoration is of the finest quality and the period details are clearly defined.

Each hook carries the makers mark impressed into the backplate "Z870".

The hooks measure:

Overall height 5" (12.8cms)

Front cartouche 2" x 1 and 1/2" (5cms x 3.5cms)

Extends forwards from the wall 5" (12.5cms)

Perfect to hold any drapes or to hook over the ropes of tassles these wonderful old hooks also make divine robe or coat hooks.

The castings are excellent with no cracks chips or defects.
