This Radio has been in my family for over 60 years and was my grandfathers original radio. I have personally owned it for 40 years.

It has been kept in the front living room for all that time but has not been used for twenty years. I can remember using it in my early youth to listen to radio Luxumberg it had a very nice tone.We stopped using it because I remember the dial cord became broken.

I have resisted the temptation of powering up this radio but with a careful look over the wiring I recon it would work ok.

I am a licensed radio ham myself and know that the capacitors on a radio of this age can be destroyed if the radio is not brought up slowly on a variac or replaced entirely before switching on.

I do not have the time for the renovation of such a beautiful project this is for the expert restorer.

It is time now to pass on this classic example of British Engineering at its finest to the enthusiast.

I have examined the radio carefully the case is in very good condition and there are no structural fractures on the bakelite just one of the usual minor settlement stress hair lines in the side of the case which is about 1.25 inches long.

All the knobs are original.

The speaker cloth is not holed

The radio is very dusty inside but I have left this for the expert to clean out.

The chassis is in the usual rusty condition for its age.

All valves are in place I may have the odd spare valve which I will include with the sale.

The wiring seems to be in good condition except for the dial pointer light wire where the rubber insulation has broken down.

I think this radio would make an excellent basis for a restoration project.
