ABOUT US
Spiritoftheplace are a group of professional artists who have been selling and exhibiting throughout the UK since 1990
We regularly carry out commissions for companies, local government organisations and for individuals. We believe in pricing our works realistically so that they can reach a wider public than the usual art gallery crowd. We know that our paintings will be appreciated for years to come, and that many of our earlier works have now risen in value far above the prices we still ask for new works, but as artists we prefer our works to have relevance to real people in the real world.

WHAT WE DO:
All our works are individually signed and dated. All are completely original and unique, hand painted in acrylic paint on canvas, varnished for protection, and are delivered complete on stretcher frames suitable to either hang straight on the wall, or to be framed in a more traditional frame of your choice.

WHAT WE DON'T DO:
We don't quote you a ridiculously high gallery price (currently exhibiting at £699!)  & then list at £30 with no reserve. We price our work by the time it takes us to paint it. We charge £8 an hour (Approximately US$14). More than a milkmaid but a lot less than a plumber. If you can get it for less you're getting less.

We don't ship you an unstretched canvas leaving you to pay for it to be put on a stretcher so you can hang it. All our work is ready to hang.

We don't use cheap paints that will fade if you hang them in daylight. We use chromacryl, daler rowney & similar top brand high permanence paints.

We don't use screen printing or airbrushing through templates. All our work is painted entirely by hand the old-fashioned way, from charcoaling an outline on the canvas to  endless brushtrokes with little squirrelhair brushes. (Is charcoaling a real word?)

 Terms and Conditions:

General

We're just reasonably reasonable people trying to sell some stuff. 
If you'd like to buy any of the stuff we're selling that would be great.
Of course we know that you are a reasonably reasonable person yourself and that you would never do any of the following:

i) fail to pay or contact us within 7 days of auction ending
ii)insist on only paying with a currency or method we do not accept
iii)fail to contact us with your address or respond to our e-mails & then leave negative feedback for non-delivery. (Check your spam filter!)
iv)refuse to pay for recorded delivery & then claim a refund for non-delivery of the item
 v)pay by cheque & then leave neg feedback for delayed delivery when we allow time for the cheque to cash

PAYMENT
Winning Bidder must pay within 7 days of auction close or notify intention of payment. After this time a none-payment warning will be issued and the item will be relisted if we do not hear from you.

If you win more than one auction and wish us to combine postage, please e-mail first so we can quote you the cheaper price.

Due to previous experience of ebay registered email addresses being inaccurate or spam filters blocking emails, it is the responsibility of the buyer to make contact with us within 3 days of purchase.

Overseas buyers must use the PayPal option only, and are solely responsible for any customs / surcharge duties that may occur upon delivery to their country.

POST & PACKING

All items will be securely shipped flat packed in bubblewrap and heavy board. Postage rates include the cost of packing materials & are are usually less than it actually costs us to pack and ship the items.  If you are not happy with these rates please do not bid.

All items are sent with insurance and will require a signature upon delivery.  Please arrange for acceptance by neighbours if you will not be home.

While we aim to have the painting delivered as soon as possible  please realise that this is not always within our control. 90% of items are delivered straight away, but we have encountered the occasional hiccup with couriers.   If you require cast-iron guaranteed fast delivery please e-mail on purchase and we'll do our best to sort something out.

International buyers please allow us to quote an inclusive price for postage and insurance before completing payment via PayPal if your area isn't already listed.

Returns Policy

We are happy to accept returns on items if they are reported by email within 48 hours of receipt and returned undamaged within 7 days securely packed using the same packaging as sent out. 

All orders are carefully checked before dispatch.  All damages must be reported within 24 hours of receipt so we can claim on the insurance.

 Please note that the photo of the piece in a room situation is a visualisation only.  Check out the measurements as stated above to ensure accurate size. Also the colours in the photos are subject to the normal variations of monitor display settings etc.
