EDWARDIAN BLONDE OAK BANKER'S DESK

It is my pleasure to offer this truly stunning vintage blonde oak banker's desk, the desk consists of four drawers on each pedestal and has solid brass cup style handles and solid brass chubb locks which are dated 1910.

The desk has a dark brown leather inlaid top which is in very good condition with no rips tears or marks etc, its possible that the top is not the original and has been replaced at some point but nevertheless looks stunning.

The desk is constructed mostly of blonde oak with panelled veneered sides and back. The wood itself has built up a wonderful patina over the years, with warm light and darker tones, the grain of the woodwork is stunning and the quality and craftmanship really does shine through!! each of the drawers are constructed using dovetailed joints. The desk stands on castors so can be moved around easily, the top of the desk does come off and is screwed from the underside making transportation easy. 

The desk is stunning and would complement either a traditional or contemporary setting and would look great in any study, office, boardroom, etc and would most certainly be the focal point.

The desk is offered in very good used condition being a working piece of everyday used furniture the desk does have some very minor knocks, surface scratches etc however this is thought to be commensurate with age and usage and does bring out the character after all the desk is 100 years old!!.

One of the handles slightly differs from the rest however, only really noticeable on very close inspection, another thing to mention is there is a small area on the rear of the desk where the veener has been chipped (see photo's) there is also some ink staining in a couple of the drawers, however, this does look like this happened many years ago. The key to desk has been mislaid however replacement keys can be made cheaply.
