THE GARDENER WHO SAW GOD written by EDWARD JAMES. 

1937 Duckworth, London hardcover, 2nd edition, September 1937.  (1st edition was April 1937)  Still extremely scarce copy.  No jckt.  Blue cloth, gilt lettering spine, Very Good condition.  Internally no inscriptions, very, very little spotting.  Nice tight binding & hinges.  Lovely copy.  James first novel, hailed upon publication as brilliant, was based on an hallucination that he underwent at his magnificent estate West Dean in Sussex, where he saw the creation of the world to the music of Beethoven.
