THE PAINTING DEPICTS AN EXTENSIVE ENGLISH WOODED COUNTRY PARKLAND VIEW WITH MANY LADIES A GENTLEMEN HAVING A PICNIC.ONE OF THE GENTLEMEN IS IN CONVERSATION AND IS HOLDING A CROQUET STICK.THERE'S A CROQUET HOOP AND BALL NEARBY.ALSO NEARBY ARE TWO HORSES AND A CARRIAGE.THE PAINTING IS SIGNED ON THE LOWER RIGHT HAND SIDE Edward Brooke.

IT IS LIGHTLY DIRTY......THE PAINTING'S CONDITION IS THAT IT HAS SOME  MILD AGE CRACKING, A FEW SLIGHT CHIPS AND SCRATCHES,WITH DISCOLOURED VARNISH.ON THE REVERSE IS STENCILED AN OLD CHRISTIE'S STOCK NUMBER IN BLACK INK (PLEASE SEE PHOTOGRAPHS)
