Book Description: John Daye, London, 1572. Half Calf. Book Condition: Fair. No Jacket. First Edition. Folio - 10.5 Inches. The rare first collected edition of Tyndale's works. Bound in recent half calf with gilt spine titles on a red morocco label. Title page supplied in modern facsimile. Missing prelims (14 pages), the two added titles pages for the works of Frith and the works of Barnes sections, pages 229-240 in third part and four pages at the very end. Starts on C1. Black letter. 478, (18), (1).172, (3), (1), (6), 183-228, 241-376. Some staining throughout, mainly towards the top gutter margin, but getting more extensive towards the end. Exterme top and bottom margin a little browned and brittle, and occasionally slightly chipped or nicked.Black splodge to corner of page 197-198 not affecting text. Dark streak to margin of page 344 in first part, and black splodge to bottom margin of second page of table to second part, and to 3rd and 4th page of third part. Final leaf of table to first part trimmed a trifle along the gutter margin, but not affecting text. Dark streaks to page 10 and 138 of second part, but text is still legible. Final leaf of third part with chunk of loss to margin with loss of a couple of letters, with silk repairs. Otherwise a readable copy. Occasional early marginal note. A rare early English printed work.
