DIMENSIONS

8 ½” diameter


DESCRIPTION

Rolled rim plate. Three partly legible touchmarks, enough to discern the maker as Richard Yates of Shoreditch, London (operating 1772-1807, some sources say 1775-1824). Marks read in part “MADE IN / LONDON / RICHARD YATES / SHOREDITCH / LONDON,” (the “MADE IN” is partly obscured), with four more touchmarks. Maker’s marks have crown, rose and other designs. Owner’s initials “LG” on the front rim.






CONDITION
Excellent. Minor surface stains and abrasions. A FINE AND EARLY ENGLISH PEWTER PLATE.
