This is an Early 20th. Century Mahogany Extending Tripod, which is complete with its brass securing legs chain, and brass locking clamps on all three legs.

There are three holes on the brass head, which I presume would be used to secure a Theodolite or Telescope mount.

The mahogany is in excellent condition (and not as red as it looks in the photographs), without any worm or damage.

The closed length is 3 feet, and when extended, it measures approximately 5 feet three ins.
