This is the 7th painting in a series of 8 depicting various views of the Blue Pool in Dorset, by London based artist Jean Buckland.

Framed in a simple 2 cm deep, plain black wooden floating mount (there's a small gap between picture and frame so none of the canvas is hidden).  The black accentuates the gem-like colour of the water.

The changing colour of the water caused by the different light reflected by the minerals created a mystical atmosphere. The range of different blues and greens as the day progressed changed one's perception of the usual colour options found in a British landscape " 

This painting was part of Jean Buckland's hugely successful exhibition at the Highgate Gallery, London, in 2005, as can be seen in the photograph of the series grouped together.
