To use a Vodafone SIM card on your existing handset you may need to get the handset unlocked from your current network or service provider. Check if your phone is locked by putting the new SIM card into your phone. If you're unable to make a call or if the phone screen displays a 'blocked', 'barred' or 'SP lock' message that means it's locked. To have it unlocked, call your existing provider and tell them you want to unlock your handset (they may charge you to do this). You will receive a code that you simply type into your phone to unlock it.
