Dining Table (Mahogany) and 8 chairs including 2 Carvers and two extension inserts.
A stylish, adaptable, extending, formal dining table and 8 matching chairs in traditional design in very good condition.
The table is wooden and topped in cross banded highly polished mahogany veneer and has a very pleasing stylish effect. The table when unextended measures 42 inches (107cm) wide by 64 inches (163 cm ) long and is 29 inches (74 cm) high from floor to tabletop. The table is supported by two very nicely turned wooden pedestals each with three curved feet ending with sheathed brass coloured metal detail. The table can be lengthened to accommodate up to 10 diners comfortably by inserting either one or two the separate matching extension leaves. Each of the two extension leaves adds 12 inches (30cm) of length to the table giving a maximum length of 88 inches (224 cm).
Complementing the table are a set of 8 matching wooden chairs (6 dining chairs and 2 carver chairs). The chairs are 39 inches (100 cm) high overall, 18 inches (46 cm) high to the seat and each seat is 20 inches (51 cm) wide at front narrowing to 16 inches (41 cm) at the rear and 18 inches (46 cm) deep. Please note that 4 dining chairs and 2 carver chairs are in the wine coloured velvet seat fabric and a further two dining chairs are in a lighter shade of velvet fabric (see photo for colour variation).
This is a quality piece of dining furniture which cost over £2000 when new. The overall condition is very good. The table has a few minor scratches and small indentations (all of which are barely noticeable). The chair fabric is clean (some very small feint spots which are barely noticeable, following recent cleaning) with no noticeable wear. Their is some very minor scuffing at the foot of some chairlegs.
Please note that for transportation the table top separates into two pieces each 42 inches x 32 inches and that the pedestals can be easily unbolted from each piece.
