This is a gorgeous large heart hanging pillow made from a wonderful vintage German blue and white floral fabric c.1930.   On the front it is decorated with a 100 year old Swiss 'St Gallen' embroidered monogram 'W' that I have hand~sewn onto a tiny patch of vintage white linen.  It is finished with a vintage Czech blue glass button and a  length of new cotton woven ribbon.  The pillow is filled with a generous amount (nice and plump) of the best French dried lavender and it measures approx. 16cm across and 16.5cm deep at the widest points (without ribbon).  It looks so pretty hung simply on a door knob or hook, over a bedstead, placed on a chair or on top of a pile of feather pillows.  It also makes a very personal gift, or a present for a wedding, new baby or christening.

All of the creations that you see are unique, one-off pieces handmade by me and are inspired by my love of all things vintage ~ especially textiles and haberdashery.  Hand-dyed threads, vintage linen, faded florals, velvet, silk and wool; tiny glass, diamante, enamel and pearl buttons; beads, ribbons and jewels ~ these are a few of my favourite things.....

 Many of the ingredients I use are old and have been loved and used in a previous life, therefore there may be inherent natural flaws and signs of age that are part and parcel of 'vintage' materials. This gently faded, worn and slightly shabby appearance is an important part of their beauty and I believe only add to their charm and are the very reason that they appeal to me ~ and hopefully to you too!  I will always be clear to describe any obvious major flaws, but please look at the photos in addition to the written description and I am very happy to answer any specific questions that you may have.
