A medieval love story---

"Anyone who has walked the stones of Florence to the great brooding Dante near Santa Croce will especially cherish this love story. And it will quicken the heart of anyone who has ever been in love...It is a gem of the crafstmanship of writing and printing." ---San Francisco Chronicle

Dante and Gentucca, A love story from the work-in-progress on Dante Aligheri. Mr. Barbeau elegantly resolves the centuries old question of the relationship of Gentucca and Dante.  The original letterpress edition was published in May, 1974 as one of the remarkable chapbook series edited by Robert Durand (Yes! Press) and Noel Young (Capra Press). Series authors included Henry Miller, Lawrence Durrell, Ray Bradbury, Anais Nin, Colin Wilson and other noted authors. That original edition, signed by the author, is being offered by rare book dealers at over $90.00 a copy.  After the original edition was totally sold out, this photo-offset edition of the original was published in 1996 by the Ikon Press, The volume is illustrated, 44 pp.  7" by 5"  Softcover.
This gem is in mint condition and is signed by the author. A wonderful gift .
