Seonaid Robertson is a real expert. She shows you how to dye at home, using simple equipment & natural, easily obtainable ingredients. There is helpful information on mordants & instructions on how to use dyes of historical importance, like woad, indigo, weld & madder.

• This was one of the first books I bought on dyeing & it has been one of the most used. I am not selling my own original copy. This is a duplicate which I seem to have acquired.
• There are equipment, general how-to & mordants chapters.
• The main body of the book sets out each plant, showing both common & Latin names. There is an illustration of each plant with dye recipes & instructions, as well as a description of the colours that can be achieved (most plants can produce more than one colour). 
• Over 140 pages packed with useful information & lots of diagrams & illustrations, as well as some colour photographs.
• Well written & easy to read.
• Condition is excellent for its age but this book has been used & it is not sold as mint. There may be some microscopic light marks to the cover.
