**DW COLLECTORS MAPLE SERIES**
*METALLIC RED WITH NATURAL OKOUME FEATHER WIDE RALLY STRIPE WITH CHROME HARDWARE*
10x6 T, 12x7 T, 15x13 FT, 22x18 BD
Finished in an exclusive, stunning exotic finish this shell set is definitely for someone looking for a one off custom set of shells that represents drum set manufacturing at its very best.
The shells are all regular Collectors shells with standard ply direction. The short stack toms give an incredibly quick and focused sound however when played with single-ply or thinner double-ply heads they have a lot of resonance and depth to them producing a very full tone with lots of attack. The 15x13 floor tom offers the round, full tones of a larger drum but can be tuned higher than a 16" drum making it a very versatile shell size. The 22x18 bass drum offers exactly what you would expect; lots of depth and thud to the note but remaining very controlled and focused, no horrible ringing or weird overtones to try and tune out. All in all this is an amazing looking drum set that sounds as good as it looks!

DW Drums in their own words
A shell’s fundamental pitch is where it wants to be tuned. No more fighting with heads to find the sweet spot. We’ve done it for you. Every set that is crafted at DW is done so as a family. Before the shell is sanded, bearing edges are added or even one hole is drilled, every drum is ear-matched to belong together for life. In a word, tuning made easy.
DW’s patented STM™ (suspension tom mount) system allows drums to vibrate freely, allowing maximum resonance while securely holding the drum in place. Because there are no washers or grommets inhibiting the lug rod receiver, choking is reduced and tuning is as easy as ever.
The recipe for a structurally sound shell starts with raw materials. Hand selected veneer is cut to DW specifications and delivered from the mill to the DW Custom Shop where the process begins with the plies themselves. To make the perfect plywood for making drums takes years of drum making experience and know how. Special glues are formulated to allow sound to travel actively through the plies, then grain is cross-laminated for superior strength. Once cut to size the shells are precisely rolled and heat pressed. Reinforcement hoops are carefully installed utilizing a finger joint and heat activated glue. Once again undergoing heat and 2000 lbs. of pressure, the raw shells raw edges are cut and the shells are ready for timber matching. It’s the most advanced, yet hands-on way to make shells.
To give drummers even more control over their sound, DW created its patented True-Pitch® rod system. The rods feature 10/32 threads rather than the 10/24 that’s standard on most other drums. The result is a more exacting tuning process. True-Pitch® rods are only available in chrome and gold.
Solid and reliable, DW’s workhorse spurs can rest snug against the drum for easy pack-up and feature telescoping legs for increased adjustability. Spikes are perfect for drum rugs or carpet or the rubber feet can be screwed in place for wood or other hard surfaces. Available in all four DW drum hardware color options.
DW Coated/Clear heads by Remo USA come standard on all DW drums and incorporate a coated tone ring for just the right amount of muffling with plenty of resonance. Crimped flesh hoops provide maximum vibration and durability.
