I used the timing light to check the ignition timing on my motorcycle engine. I experimented a bit to find the best position for the pick-up on the HT lead, but when I found a good spot it worked perfectly. Just one slight downside, the "gun" is hard plastic that seems like it might not be very robust. Need to treat it carefully I think. On the plus side, spare bulbs are available from Draper.

Well packaged, easy to connect. Sadly no flashy flashy not even once!. Yes they are entry level but that's not the point. Should have taken more notice of other reviews which where negative just thought they where unlucky, probably not so. In short waste of time, shell out more and get something better.

easy to set up. make sure the induction pick up is not touching any engine parts. Once that was sorted a good flash spot on.

This timing strobe appears well made and easy to use, although I have not used it myself and am only going by other reviews. My only issue is the instructions. They tell you to clip the sensor over No. 1 plug lead, but don't tell you how. They also warn you about excessive force or knocks on the sensor. The answer is to slide the top back along the line of the sensor using the thumb lever. Be careful how you slide it back over the lead: it slides quite abruptly.
