DAY BOOK SALE or while stocks last - NEW REFERENCE BOOKS
A rare opportunity to acquire a book from the DPRK / North Korea DPRK / North Korean Book: Koryo Dynasty Celadon / Bronze
The great leader President Kim Il Sung said: "The people of Koryo greatly developed the printing industry by inventing metal type for the first time in the world and manufactured the Koryo ceramics which the world values as treasures because of their distinctive colours, patterns and models. All these made our country famous". Part of the introduction to this book. The Koryo
Museum complex is at the foot of Mt. Songak in Kaesong, the capital of Koryo,
which was the first unified state in Korea. This books covers a selection of
exhibits from the Koryo Dynasty (AD 918 - 1392). 31 fine examples of celadon
porcelain are illustrated, as are 23 various bronzes. Various other artefacts
are included. 44 printed pages, colour throughout. Soft cover. 18 x 24.5 cm. We personally bought a few of these books at the Koryo Museum in Kaesong on our recent visit to North Korea and carried them back as hand luggage. We could not buy many, as there were not many to buy and books are heavy to carry as hand luggage; a very rare opportunity, especially for our American customers who are not allowed to visit the DPRK, to acquire such a publication. Sale Price £ 10.00 (our usual price £ 15.00)
