DOOR RESTRICTOR

This door restrictor is easy to fit to an existing Upvc door which has a 16mm euro groove. It is non-handed so will fit left or right hand opening doors. It is usually fitted on outward opening doors but can also be used on inward opening doors. The restrictor has a steel arm and an aluminium slide channel.

 

The restrictor is 16mm wide, the aluminium slide channel is 330mm long and the steel arm is 265mm long.

 

The restrictor prevents the door from opening all the way and features an adjustable friction glide. It is ideal for stopping your doors catching in the wind and hitting the wall or knocking the paintwork. Depending on how the restrictor is fitted the door will open up to a maximum of 110 degrees.  

 

If required the restrictor arm can easily be disconnected allowing the door to open fully. To do this you simply pull down on the arm where it is attached to the universal bracket.

 

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Place the aluminium slide into the euro groove in the top of the door sash as shown in photo 2, but do not screw in place yet - make sure the retaining clip is at the hinge side of the door. Now fix the universal bracket to the outerframe of the door approx 50mm from the corner on the hinge side as shown in photo1. You can now make the final adjustments to position the aluminium slide channel to suit where you would like the door to open to, then screw into place. You can now adjust the slide tensioning screw to the give the amount of friction you require.
