DOG GUARD & DIVIDER (Barjo) – Toyota Avensis Estate (1997-2003 model)

This BARJO ‘Dog Guard’ was custom made for the 1997-2003 model Toyota Avensis Estate.  I changed my car to a Rav4 and the guard/divider is now no longer required.  Whilst the Dog Guard might well fit other Estate Cars the Divider is shaped and designed to attach to this Dog Guard. 

This is a ‘dog guard’ and fits behind the rear seats (it is not a Tail Gate Guard).  The guard itself has 2 (two) removable escape doors (corresponding to the drop down seats) and is in excellent, undamaged and unmarked condition.

All Barjo custom built Dog Guards are tailor made for the specific make and model of car (their web-site is www.barjo.co.uk)  These guards are shaped to the angle of the rear seat(s) to give maximum floor space and fitting/removal is very easy.  Remove any parcel shelf, slightly tilt the rear seats and then slide in the dog guard behind the rear seats - I will provide the instructions I have.  There are two small horizontal bars, one on either side, which rest on the inside wheel arch and are then held in position by the rear seat when placed back in position.  No other fixing is required and the guard can be inserted/removed in less than 5 minutes.

The escape door(s) are removed by tilting the one or more seats forward, undoing a wing nut and then sliding the door out.  Designed for emergencies but we have used it to allow the dog potential access to the car for security reasons when we have left it parked.

I also have the divider – not shown on the photo – which attaches to the guard by two wing nuts and splits the rear into two distinct areas.  The divider has a flat bar at the base which rests on the boot floor and an adjustable rubber cup which fixes the divider to the roof.  The Barjo Dog Guard and Divider is finished in aesthetically pleasing, non-toxic, hard wearing black electrophoretic enamel (details can be found on their own web-site).

Although made for the Avensis Estate the guard will fit other models of Estate car and I do have PDF images of the guard (I stress that these are my drawings - not to scale) which contain the various measurements which I am happy to email to anyone seriously interested.  The key measurements are the width (88 cm) between the wheel arches; the width from left to right car side i.e. almost window to window and behind the rear seats is 132cm and the vertical height when fitted is c85-87cm. 

As I have provided full details with dimensions (and will also provide them in PDF form) I will not accept any return of this item once sold.

Please note re Postage/packing:  The length of the Guard when packed will be c140 cm (weight c13kg) so the cheapest postal method is Royal Mail Standard Parcels.  Luckily they deliver throughout UK.
