St Margaret's Hope is a beautiful village on the Island of Orkney,
Today's St Margaret's Hope known locally as The Hope is the third largest settlement in Orkney and sits at the head of a sheltered bay at the northern end of South Ronaldsay.
On maps it looks like South Ronaldsay isn't connected to the Orkney mainland but it is connected to the Orkney mainland by the A961 road across the Churchill barriers and you can drive the whole way across the island
