Hand Made by Renowned Navajo Silversmith DARRELL CADMAN,
Born in 1969, Darrel Cadman is the brother of well-known silversmith Andy Cadman and a half-brother of renowned smiths Gary and Sunshine Reeves. This group of relatively young smiths all learned much of their trade from David Reeves (Gary and Sunshine's full-brother who is now deceased). The Cadman brothers and the Reeves brothers, therefore, share a common element of apprenticeship and exhibit certain similarities in their work. When met with Darrel, Andy Cadman and Sunshine Reeves in February of 2009, we secretly set up a little "competition" between the 3 of them, to see who could impress us the most. Darrel Won. (Period). This Cuff in Particular is a Prime Example of Darrel's Master Silversmithing.
The stone is set in a straight-edged bezel, wrapped with twist wire and large repoussée starred buttons mark the intermediate directions around the center stone. This row of stones is framed by fanned scallop appliquées, starred buttons, scrollwork and sunface appliquées. The edges of this cuff are softly scalloped and highlighted by scallop stamps, while deep stampwork otherwise decorates the cuff.
We had Darrell custom make several XLARGE (Big Daddy) Cuffs for our Larger Wristed Gentleman, and this is one of them! He has done a Phenomenal job, using his own custom hand stamping tools, heavy silver appliques, scrolls and silver work. This is Heavy Gauge Sterling Silver, not flimsy tourist material. This cuff is meant to last, and is considered Heirloom quality. Wear this Authentic Hand Made Native American cuff with Pride!
