The DI-524UP router is able to transfer data with maximum wireless signal rates of up to 54 Mbps over 2.4GHZ frequencies ? the equivalent of those provided by wireless 802.11b devices. The DI-524UP comes with four Ethernet ports to support multiple computers and accessories connected via an Ethernet cable. The DI-524UP produces signals transfers signals through wireless channels, making it possible to stream videos and other applications requiring high bandwidths such as online games to function, without having to use Ethernet cables. The use of high bandwidths also increases the quality of applications and videos viewed in real time and makes watching films through streaming a lot more enjoyable. In addition, the DI-524UP router has an advanced in-built firewall, which prevents intrusion by pirates operating on the network. Aside from the firewall, the DI-524UP includes a host of functions that authorise or prohibit the opening of certain ports for specific applications, or allow the firewall to open and close programs at a particular time. Other modes such as content and Mac filtering, as well as URL or domain blocking, mean you can protect your network by restricting access to it.
