You are bidding for the April 1987 issue of the British shipping interest journal Sea Breezes. There are several articles of interest but I am highlighting two, one called "Mixed Fortunes of Cyclindrical Ships" by David L Williams and the other "Another Good Day at the Locks. "There's often an instinctive appreciation of what is an agreeable design and an equally inbred aversion to what is not, attitudes which have sustained teh premise that what looks good generally works best. Knapp's roller boat bears out the hypothesis but the "Christopher Columbus" was the exception." "Some years ago we published am account of a day out at Birkenhead Docks by John Collins. Re-reading that article prompted Bernard McCall to find out whether it was still possible to enjoy a similar venture a decade later..." The magazine is small sized with 70-80 pages plus covers Well illustrated. Condition - as shown. Very good. Name in pen on cover. Please e-mail and I will very happily send you more pictures
P&P £1 UK - elsewhere at cost. Please e-mail me with any questions. There will always be a postage reduction if you buy more than one item. Please see my other current and future auctions for more shipping items. |
