This was first filmed in pit canteens, and social clubs. See early technology and the culture of coal extraction. The Mecco-Moore was a 120 horse power machine that automated a large part of the process underground.

Also on this dvd is two other programs. "Five Day a Week" miners discuss the terms of working a shorter week.

And the final film "The Miners Song" witness activities in the coal mining community and work underground. Lovely film this.

Overall a fantastic piece of mining memerobilia.

lovely to watch and the memories come flooding back.. Even if you were not a miner the film shows an insight into a trade thats barely surviving.. The Five Day a Week is something to witness and gives an insight into what our fore-fathers fought for so long and eventually got. Superb quality all round and educational too.
The Miners Song is very apt to end with. Very enjoyable and again outstanding and perfect to watch, just like all our products..
