Audiocom International in conjunction with Frozen Solid Audio provide a Deep Cryogenic Treatment (DCT) service for audio & visual products.

People talk about Cryogenic processing and the enormous improvements they have heard from having a socket or fuse holder treated; you only have to search the audio forums to read it. Now take this concept and apply it to the hundreds of components that make up a CD player or amplifier; sockets, wires, connectors, components, circuit boards, transformers and you begin to appreciate the impact DCT has on an audio system. Even the most expensive and elaborate Hi-Fi in the world will benefit equally from DCT, it has no boundaries!

Listed price is for a premium service for medium size equipment  Length = 450mm x Width = 350mm. The listed price relates to a specific service & equipment size. Please ensure you check that the size of your equipment matches the service before buying.

What Does DCT Do?

Deep Cryogenic Treatment or DCT for short is a process that involves the cooling of metals and other materials to very low temperatures, typically around -190°C. When metals such as Copper or Silver are drawn they develop a distorted ‘grain’ structure which leads to tiny voids, disruptions and discontinuities in the conductor as the metal is compressed and contorted by the drawing process.

The DCT processing leads to the development of a more refined crystal structure of the metals, drastically reducing voids disruptions and discontinuities in the conductor. The result is a metal with reduced skin effect, lower resistance; improved electron flow.

Sound Quality Improvements

The resulting sound after the DCT process is truly spectacular. It takes seconds when listening to become aware of the reduction in system noise, the background to music is significantly quieter bringing to the surface detail and nuances previously unheard.

The lower frequencies have greater definition, control and accuracy; by comparison bass notes on the non DCT player sound loose, softer and less defined.

What is remarkable is the naturalness of sound. Vocals and instruments have a truer tonal balance, realistic timbre; the sound projects into the listening room with increased spatial qualities.

DCT works with your system to achieve optimum performance. It is non invasive and the results are a guaranteed positive regardless of brand, model or vintage. No other means of audio upgrade can provide the unique benefits that come from the DCT process, even the best audio gear in the world will be vastly improved.

As a guide, The DCT process can be applied to the following types of audio equipment;

CD Players
DAC Processors

SACD Players

DVD Players

Blu-Ray Players
Phono Stages

Integrated Amplifiers

Pre-amplifiers

Power Amplifiers
Headphone Amplfiers

AV Amplifiers

SKY HD Top-Box

Radio Tuners

The above list is not exhaustive. If you have audio equipment that is not listed please contact us to check the viability of the DCT process.

FAQ’s

Q: Does the DCT process degrade over time?
A: No, the DCT process is permanent and can be appreciated continually.

Q: Can I achieve DCT by placing my audio gear in the freezer?
A:  The DCT process is a function of time and temperature, you might manage a change in your freezer but it would take years.

Q: Will my components become brittle?
A: Common misconception, though will certainly happen with shock treatment such as dipping of articles into Liquid Nitrogen, the process at Frozen Solid Audio regularly treats large batches of glass thermionic valves without any such effect indicating the gentle and repeatable effects brought about.

Q: What else in my system benefits from DCT?
A: Just about all materials involved in the musical chain show improvement through DCT, from players to amps to cables and CD or DVD material, just ask if you have any unusual requirements. Any item can be sent to Audiocom for treatment with your main component if required.

Q: Does the component become wet or immersed?
A: No, the LN2 process is a dry one involving gentle and regulated exposure to the gas as it boils off around -196C.
