Cruising Boat
For Rivers, Sea and Canals
Ideal for Fishing
FREE Mooring and Storage Included
Hi and welcome to the auction of this lovely little boat currently named Little Puffin. She's very pretty and looks very traditional; her clinker style hull makes her look like a Cornish fishing boat or maybe one of those Cobles. The original build plate is still with the boat and was made by T.S Marine of Southampton, Number 171. She would be perfect for overnight trips, day boating, fishing or just messing about on the water.
The bidding is starting at £1500 and it includes one month mooring or storage FREE OF CHARGE to be going on with.
You can bid with confidence as whatever you bid for this boat over £1500 will also be offset against the normal cost of mooring or storage. This would normally be £91 per month which is pretty good value for the Thames. So as an example: if you bid £1955 for the boat, you can keep the boat in the yard for 6 months FREE OF CHARGE. You have the choice of keeping it in or out of the water and the use of the slipway is free to our customers.
The hull is white and is simulated clinker, made from GRP, in good condition with a nearly straight stem post and a very slim stern. The antifoul is red. The outboard engine is mounted inboard so she keeps the traditional look. There is a hardwood rubbing strake around the hull. The superstructure is turquoise, made from GRP, and in good condition; there is also a white, GRP, windscreen surround. There is a stainless steel pulpit on the bow in good condition, 2 hardwood handrails on the cabin roof, a hardwood taff rail around the cockpit, 2 hardwood samson posts at the stern and 1 at the bow and 2 rowlocks mounted on the taffrail.
The cabin is reached via a lifting hatch and wooden doors; there is an escape hatch to the bow. The cabin has 2 wooden benches either side with a cushion at the bow. It's small, simple and charming.
The outboard is an Evinrude 6 hp, 2 stroke that starts very easily on a pull start and is controlled by a wooden streering wheel and separate throttle and gear control levers. It runs very nicely and suits the boat extremely well with really good economy. The fuel tank and fuel line are included along with a new fire extinguisher.
Little Puffin has a new Boat Safety Certificate that runs right up to July 2013. There is also a canopy frame and blue canopy; the canopy is complete but will require re-stitching.
Little Puffin is ready to go and be enjoyed by a new owner. She is not perfect but is still very nice and usable straight away with no jobs that can't wait until spring.
Her approximate overall measurements are as follows:-
Overall length 16 ft 8 inches
Overall width 5 ft 8 inches
This is a no reserve auction and it will go to the highest bidder. It's advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells.
The boat is in a boatyard in Runnymede near Old Windsor and Egham and you are welcome to come and view or call me, Richard, on 07958 792122. I'd like contact within 24 hours after the end of the auction and payment in cash within 7 days; the FREE mooring or storage period starts at the end of the auction. I am happy to deliver the boat for you but please contact me for a price before the auction ends if you want to keep her elsewhere. I have several (project) trailers that may be suitable for her available by separate negotiation.
Overall this is a really nice and very seaworthy boat that looks very traditional and very pretty and will give her new owner loads of fun.
