Cruising Boat
Sea, Rivers and Canals
Ideal for Fishing
FREE Mooring and Storage Included
Hi and welcome to the auction of this lovely boat currently named Little Norm. She's very pretty and looks very traditional; someone described her perfectly as a "proper little boat". She was made by Island Plastics and is an IP16. She would be perfect for day trips, fishing or just messing about on the water and is a very seaworthy design just like a mini Nelson or Pilot boat.
The bidding is starting at £1500 and it includes one month mooring or storage FREE OF CHARGE to be going on with.
You can bid with confidence as whatever you bid for this boat over £1500 will also be offset against the normal cost of mooring or storage. This would normally be £91 per month which is pretty good value for the Thames. So as an example: if you bid £1955 for the boat, you can keep the boat in the yard for 6 months FREE OF CHARGE. You have the choice of keeping it in or out of the water and the use of the slipway is free to our customers.
The hull is white and is made from GRP, in good condition with a nearly straight stem post and a very attractive wineglass transom. The outboard is mounted on a hardwood mounting. There is a hardwood rubbing strake around the hull and a further hardwood strake mounted halfway up the hull. The superstructure is painted white, made from GRP, and in good condition; the decks both in the cockpit and around the boat are recently painted in grey non-slip deckpaint and there is a hardwood toerail. There is a hardwood handrail on the cabin roof, a hardwood samson post at the bow along with a large cleat and 2 fairleads. At the stern there are 2 further large cleats.
In the cockpit there is hardwood bench seating to each side and to the stern. The bulkhead and door to the cabin are hardwood. The cabin has 2 wooden benches either side with cushions at the bow. It's small, simple and charming.
The outboard is an Mercury 25 hp, 2 stroke that starts very easily on a pull start; it pushes the boat along really well and with her hull shape will do around 12 knots or so. She is controlled by a wooden, ship style, steering wheel and separate throttle and gear control levers; the steering is a proper cable set-up. It's a very good set-up and suits the boat extremely well. The Plastimo fuel tank and fuel line are included. There is an auxilliary outboard bracket fitted. There are navigation lights port and starboard and a centre pole but although there is a switch / fuse board it is not connected to a battery nor has it been tested. The winning bidder will also get 2 mooring lines and 4 fenders.
Little Norm has a new Boat Safety Certificate that runs right up to 2013. Little Norm is ready to go and be enjoyed by a new owner. Her hull will need cleaning and re-antifouling next time she's out of the water and the woodwork could do with revarnishing in Spring but she is very nice and usable straight away.
Her approximate overall measurements are as follows:-
Overall length 16 ft
Overall width 6 ft
This is a no reserve auction and it will go to the highest bidder. It's advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells.
The boat is in a boatyard in Runnymede near Old Windsor and Egham and you are welcome to come and view or call me, Richard, on 07958 792122. I'd like contact within 24 hours after the end of the auction and payment in cash within 7 days; the FREE mooring or storage period starts at the end of the auction. I am happy to deliver the boat for you but please contact me for a price before the auction ends if you want to keep her elsewhere. I have several (project) trailers that may be suitable for her available by separate negotiation.
Overall this is a really nice and very seaworthy boat that looks very traditional and very pretty and will give her new owner loads of fun.
