Crookes' Tube with Insect Small Crookes' tube standing about 12" tall and mounted on a turned wooden base. The tube contains a metal flying insect which has a fluorescent coating and comes to life when the tube is fired up (using an induction coil or even a violet ray machine) as my last photo shows. The illustration showing a range of similar tubes is taken from the Otto Pressler catalogue of 1914; this particular example was made more recently but using original components found in the Pressler factory (see Christie's catalogues, February 1998 and June 1999). It is in fine, working condition. | | | | | POSTAGE Postage to United Kingdom addresses £2 Postage Outside the United Kingdom $8
