Komodo Dragon - Swift runners and climbers with great appetites for deer and boar, the Komodo Dragon is the world's largest lizard species. The current population of Dragons seems relatively stable at about 5,000 yet scientists are concerned that only 350 of them are breeding females. The primary threat to survival includes illegal hunting and loss of habitat to humans. The dragon's limited distribution makes them highly susceptible to natural or human-caused events as well.
The original design from which this wildlife sculpture is made was crafted in the acclaimed studios of "Country Artists", located in the historic market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, England.
The studios of "Country Artists" are dedicated to producing the most detailed and accurate designs possible. For this reason, each sculpture is cold cast using high quality, pure white, poly resins (sometimes referred to as "Cold Cast Porcelain" and painted entirely by hand using the finest oil based paints.
