THE TECHNOLOGICAL EVOLUTION HAS ALLOWED TO CREATE A SELF-ADJUSTING ARMORED GLOW PLUG. THE RESISTANCE CONSISTS OF TWO COILS, MADE OF DIFFERENT  MATERIALS LINKED TO EACH OTHER IN SERIES.                                   

THE HEATING COIL IS MADE OF A METAL ALLOY THAT CAN KEEP ITS ELECTRIC RESISTANCE ALMOST CONSTANT OVER THE ENTIRE RANGE OF TEMPERATURES VARIATION. BY FEEDING THE DUAL RESISTANCE GLOW PLUG, THE ELECTRIC CURRENT GOES ACROSS THE TWO COILS; WHEN THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE IS REACHED, AS THE RESISTANCE VARIATION OF THE HEATING COIL IS NEARLY VOID, THE ELECTRIC CURRENT WOULD REMAIN VERY HIGH. THIS WOULD CAUSE IMMEDIATE AND IRREPARABLE DAMAGES TO BOTH THE GLOW PLUG AND THE ELECTRIC INSTALLATION.

THE ACTION OF THE ADJUSTING COIL, THAT INCREASES ITS RESISTANCE APPROX SIX TIMES MORE THAN ITS CORRESPONDING VALUE WHEN OFF, CAN CUT DOWN THE CURRENT ABSORBED WITH THE SAME COEFFICIENT. THESE ELECTRICAL FEATURES ALLOW TO ENHANCE THE GLOW PLUG PERFORMANCE BY REDUCING THE IGNITION BY HALF,MAINTAINING THE SAME INPUT.

THESE GLOW PLUGS REACH 850 DEGREES C IN ABOUT 6 - 7 SECONDS, GOING UP TO 1050 DEGREES C, AND THEN STABILIZE IN THE AFTER-HEATING PHASE , BRELOW 1000 DEGREES C.
