The passion flower creeper that clads Mithian Cottage produces a profuse array of exotic blooms and fruit each year leaving passers by in awe of its prolific growth. A sympathetic and carefully planned extension to the 18th century cottage featuring reversed accommodation, this studio style dwelling is perfect for a romantic break where couples can relax in seclusion and comfort. The living room is open into the roof with exposed timbers and large sloping velux windows giving a light and airy aspect to the lounge area and the well-designed kitchen. Downstairs angular walls add a quaint quirkiness to a tastefully decorated ground floor bedroom.

The property stands opposite a row of thatched cottages and is situated on the edge of the tiny, picturesque village of Mithian. Reputedly one of the oldest villages in Cornwall, it has a cluster of thatched cottages together with a 16th-century inn (The Miners Arms) serving excellent food and beer and with an Elizabethan courtyard.

You can walk from the cottage down into a secluded wooded valley to Trevaunance Cove and many other beaches are just 5 minutes drive away. This quiet, idyllic village is surrounded by delightful countryside offering numerous lovely walks. Just 1.5 miles from the historic coastal village of St Agnes, offering the renowned surfing beaches of Trevaunance Cove and Chapel Porth and, a mile or two away, Perranporth and Porthtowan beach as well - with their surfing, sand and young beach café society. Mithian is also an excellent starting point for the wonderful South West coastal path. Truro (a lovely city to browse around) is just 7 miles with its many shops, excellent restaurants, cinema and theatre.

The cottage is ideally placed for visiting all parts of Cornwall, being no more than c.45 minutes from anywhere in the county.

We now have wi-fi broadband available in the studio, so if you need/want to bring your laptop(s) then please feel free - the cottage is very tranquil and it is a perfect place for relaxed work as well as relaxation!

You don't have to drive to Cornwall...we're 30 minutes by taxi from Newquay Airport.
