What is it you are actually selling?
Sonovert is a kit to allow you to covert an audio tape or vinyl recordings to an MP3 file. You get software, equipment and clear and easy-to-use instructions.
What do you mean by “Start producing MP3s in 10 minutes”
Quite simply, you should be ready to start converting your recordings into MP3s within 10 minutes of opening the package.
EDITING AND SAVING
Once you have produced your MP3 file, you will be able to use the software supplied to edit it – zooming in here, cutting here, copying and pasting there, adding a silence here and undoing any changes you don’t like – in fact you can edit it just until it sounds right to the ear. You can also make the whole thing louder, quieter and produce other effects.
There are no limitations on the use of the software. Though if your recording is several hours long, you may find it takes some time to edit and save the file.
Saving your work (as an MP3 at a bit rate of 128) will allow you to save a total of 4 hours of tape recordings onto a 256MB MP3 player with ease, 8 hours onto a 512MB player etc.

What if I can’t get it to work?
You shouldn’t have any difficulties - most buyers are satisfied - but if you have ANY problems you can return the kit for a full refund within 14 Days.
I have a cassette with 45 minutes of recording – how long will it take me to convert this and how large will the file be?
It will take 45 minutes. The reason that you see the 10 minute claim above is because it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to set everything up and to get started. Unlike sellers who sell just instructions or conversion software, Sonovert includes instructions, equipment and software so you won’t need to make any further purchases.
Once you open the package and start reading the instructions, you should be able to start recording within 10 minutes.
The beauty of Sonovert is that once you get the hang of it, you can let the kit do your converting, whilst you use the computer to get on with other tasks.
At a standard bit rate of 128 the 45 minute recording will be around 35MB to 45MB when stored as an MP3 file.
Does the software have limitations?
Use of the software is limited only by your imagination. There are no time limits on use, there are no functions disabled that you must make payment to have enabled etc. All functions – including the more advanced editing tools - are available for use from day one.
Is an MP3 player included?
No. You will be able to hear your MP3 recording on your computer so a player is optional.
If you need a programme to play MP3s on your computer, well the software included can be used for that.
But more sophisticated MP3 file playing software is available free-of-charge, and if you email a request, a list will be provided so you can download one that suits you best.
What is it that Sonovert actually records?
Whatever you would normally hear when you plug your earphones into your player is what will be recorded onto your computer. That 'analogue' sound output is converted into a digital recording by Sonovert
.
I have a tape which is frankly a bit dodgy, can Sonovert help?
You could try making two or three recordings and keeping the best one.
The editing tools may also help edit out damaged portions and to clean up interference (or background noise) or make quiet patches louder etc.
