Well, I`m really not too sure, what this is for , or for that matter, where it is from.
All I can say is that I have never had one before, and that it looks very old and very rare.
As you can see, it is in the form of a pear on a stalk, with leaves hanging down either side.[one of which is half missing- see in the photo]
The main section unscrews into 3, and also the smaller pear unscrews in half.
The engraving looks very old and is slightly tired, but if this is as old as I think it is [circa 1700], it is entitled to be!
There is also a small ring loop at the end of the stalk for hanging.

It is 4.5 cm high and 3 cm wide from outside small pear to outside stalk.
