Excellent complete example of the Head-ax distinctively used by the Igorot mountain people of North Luzon in Philippines. Featuring a typical form head with one side sharp, showing heavy surface staining and evidence of usage. The head is in good shape and is slightly loose inside the long iron neck bounding the wooden shaft, decorated with brass or copper wire and plates, iron tip. Good overall condition and a very fine authentic example of this famous tribal weapon. OA  22 1/2" Head 11 1/4" between the spikes.
