This is an original, late nineteenth century, engraving which was taken from a disbound edition of the very scarce 'Landscapes, British and Foreign.'
Drawn: After E. W. Cooke
Engraved: Charles G. Lewis
Title: "Colisseum, Rome: By Moonlight"
This was published in London by the 'Art-Union of London' in 1874.
The overall size is approx, 365 x 260 mm.
The edges are generally a little chipped and browned with age.There is a little faint spotting to the blank margins. These slight imperfections only affect the blank margins, so will not be visible once the print is framed.
Overall the image is crisp, clean and in good condition.
This a very scarce,
late nineteenth century engraving, which is from a collection that we
have never seen before. This print would add to any collection, and
will look very good when mounted and framed. This will be sent rolled, in a rigid tube.
