| Clifftop Cottage in the village of Glossa on Skopelos island
This self-catering holiday cottage is offered for the week of 16 - 23 October (7 nights). The price is the price for the property for the week. It is in the beautiful traditional village of Glossa on Skopelos island where 'Mama Mia' was filmed. The nearest airport is on the neighbouring island of Skiathos, and there are direct flights from many UK airports from May to October, mainly Wednesdays and Fridays. From there it is only 15 minutes on the hydrofoil to Glossa. Skopelos island has many beautiful beaches and pine-covered hills for you to explore.
The cottage is newly
built in the traditional style, with open wooden ceilings, French doors to the
balcony from both sitting room and bedroom, and well equipped kitchen, bathroom
and storage lobby. Sleeps 2 – 4. There
is a double bed in the bedroom and a pull-out sofa-bed in the sitting room. It is suitable for summer or winter, with a wood-burning stove, washing machine, television and other essentials. The views are truly stunning.
From the balcony you can see along the south coast of Skopelos island and
beyond to the Pelion on mainland Greece where the sun sets. From the sun terrace on the south side of the cottage, there are
views to the islands of Evia and Skiathos and the small islands. The balcony is more
than large enough for 4 or 6 to eat comfortably, and gives shade for most of the day. The sun terrace on the south side has two traditional
sun loungers, and an external shower for sun-worshipers to cool off. For the autumn and winter there is a wood-burning stove which gives plenty of heating, or a radiator for not-so-cold days.
All bedding and
towels are provided and clean linen is stored in the cottage. We can provide
for linen change and cleaning once or twice a week as you wish. You
can select from our library of books, DVDs and music collection stored in the
office close by. The village has
shops, tavernas and bus stop all within 10 minutes walk of the cottage. There
is a good frequent bus service to all the main beaches on the island. Loutraki
is a 25 minute walk. This is the nearest beach, and also provides harbourside
cafes and fish tavernas. This is an ideal holiday rental in Skopelos, the 'Mama Mia' Greek island.
