Here we have our classic ex-Metropolitan Police river boat (no. 258) built in 1943 by the William Osborne boatyard at Arun.

She has some history and is probably one of the last of her kind in working order - she's a real head turner!

We have been refurbishing this boat for the last two years she has been stripped back to the wood and then antifouled. We found no rotten wood below the water line and two small bits above which were sorted out.

Last year we replaced the bow, port, starboard and stern decks. The only thing that needs attention on the outside now are parts of the rubbing strake and some mouldings to the cabin roof

The cockpit and inner decks have been replaced as well as lights put in the decks there is also a spot light next to the cabin door. We have had 8 people on the back of the boat so there is more than enough room. There is a 6 seater table as well as a single sun bed area.

In the cabin there is a 2 seater table/chart table which can also be lowered to the level of the two single seats either side to form a single berth and a 3 seater bench seat on the other side which can also be used as a single (or double) berth.

In the galley we have replaced the doors to the all cupboards with cherrywood laminate marine ply which looks really nice. There is also a new paraffin 2 ring stove and collapsible oven and a sink with running water.

There is an old Baby Blake toilet in the bow, (apparently worth a few quid!) but it could do with a new set of seals.

It is also possible to have a small double berth in this area if required.

She is a beautiful vessel and with a little bit more work she could be something really special.
