What is a Camera crane / Jib?

In cinematography, the jib, or camera crane is a mechanical device that is used to hold a camera on an extended arm. With the camera, the camera jib / crane is able to rotate around its own axis and move up and down resulting in extremely smooth pans and tilts.
With a jib, you can place a camera in a corner and have it rotate on a remote axis which results in a room looking larger than if using a tripod mounted camera. Camera moves are smoother than when mounted on a tripod.
Jibs are commonly used in studio applications, stage productions and out door events as well as commercial applications.
Jib is an example that creates feelings. It gives the jerk free movement upwords and sidewords.

JIB SET UP

The Jib breaks down into two sections. Setup is easy and it takes less than 3 minutes. The two sections couple together and are screwed using the L-key provided. Then mount the Jib Arm to the tripod head. You are now ready to mount your camera and start using your Jib Arm.

The plate to attach the Jib to tripod has mounting holes for both the standard 1/4" thread and 3/8" to fit almost any professional tripod.

Folding nose section can be folded to a rectangular box as shown in picture. Each part can be de-assembled to a manage-able form as shown in picture. All parts are packed in a long handy bag so transportation is very easy. You can carry your jib anywhere you want to take.

Gym weights is used as counter-weight which is not included in this kit.

Screw on bolts are included to keep gym weights safely on the weight bar.

Our Camera head features:-

• The head has smooth movements, pan, and tilt locks.
• The head have separate controls to control the degree of friction ("drag"), and panning and tilting locks.
• A lightweight head with adjustable pan bar and quick-release camera plate. Pan bar will help you to tilt or pan camera manually in desired direction while using jib.

Maintenance:

It is easy to maintain the Jib. It parts are made up of - Aluminium Metal, Powder Coated, White & Black Anodized and Chrome plated.

If jib is used for long hours or in dirty conditions then it should be cleaned by disassembling the entire jib and relubricating it.

Safety Rules:

While attaching different parts screw should be fixed properly and carefully. They should not be loose but fixed tightly.

Jib should not be exposed excessively to damp or wet situations.

Be sure that all parts are levelled properly.
