Unless you have a passion for watching those old home movies on a screen, it is doubtful that you or any member of your family will ever get to relive those precious moments. The answer is to have your cine films transferred to DVD or VHS tape so that everyone can view them at their leisure.
Our Service This auction is for the Digital Transfer of 1 x 50ft Spool of cine film whatever the gauge.* We also cater for longer transfers on different sized spools if you so choose.
*For 35mm please see our website
What Gauge of Film? We have facilities for transferring Standard (Regular) 8mm, Super 8mm, Single 8mm, 9.5mm, 16mm and 35mm. If your film has a soundtrack, this will be included at no extra cost.
No Hidden Costs All we ask is that you have checked your films to make sure they are in fit condition for running, otherwise any repairs or additional handling will be added to the cost. If you are unsure about the condition, you are welcome to send them for free inspection. We ask that you include paid self addressed packaging for their return.
We only use high quality Verbatim branded DVD's that are designed to last and this is included in the price. Should you choose VHS tape for your conversion, this is also included in the price.
Did You Know! E.S.Photographics don't just transfer cine to DVD, we have a working background of film, video and it's equipment. When video emerged in the late 1970's, opportunists popped up from everywhere offering their services; all claiming how professional they were, yet knowing very little. The trusting customer (also knowing very little) handed over their money only to view less-than acceptable results. Anyone brave enough to question the work was usually fed one of two lines, "the film was damaged" or "the quality of your film wasn't very good to begin with." And who are you to argue with a Professional?
Unfortunately this still takes place because we have heard it direct from the horses mouth (the person taking your money). Some have even jested that you can get away with anything because "if they can see a picture they're not that bothered." If money wasn't involved it would be comical, but sadly that is definately not the case. An individual contacts us for advice claiming he wants to convert a reel of film to DVD and the following week he is offering his services as a highly competent specialist. It's all too easy these days to create an eye-pleasing advert and sell yourself on the internet but you must be prepared to back up your claims. Cine transfer and DVD creation is a time consuming process and you only get what you pay for.

Video To DVD Transfers
| If you have footage that you filmed on videotape then not only will it look better on DVD, it will be protected against further ageing. Every time you play a video tape it sheds part of it's precious oxide (the particles that hold the information) but DVD is an optical process which does not rely on contact. |

Photo Restoration
Restoration of a torn or badly creased photograph is an art in itself and can run into many hours of work. It is not achieved automatically by software as many people might think; it is definately a hands on skill and unlike some who claim they undertake the work by simply altering sharpness or brightness, we will artistically reconstruct if needed.

In the above example we see the original photograph on the left, complete with emulsion loss, sticky tape marks and badly underexposed. The photo on the right has not only been repaired it has been given new life after undergoing exposure alterations to the children's' faces.

The above photograph had been torn for around 30 years and dates back to 1937. We repaired the missing hair by painting it in and then added a brand new marble background in keeping with the feel.

The above photograph dates back to 1920 and has many defects including a crease which resulted in the image being lifted (notice the hair on the young boy). Individual pieces of brickwork were replaced along with the crease and after many hours of work, the result speaks for itself.
