Church's are able to trace back their origins as a family of cordwainers to 1675 when descendant Stone Church was born, but as far as organised shoe production goes, in the mid 1850's Thomas Church set up works in Maple Street Northampton and would be later joined in the family business by his three sons and Church's today has evolved to be globally recognised as the name at the forefront of England's shoemaking tradition.
