An important signed electroplated silver twin-welled basket by Dr Christopher Dresser for Hukin and Heath
 
Museum-quality features: Stamped 'Designed by Dr. C Dresser' / Retains some of its original canework handle

As you can see the piece in very good condition indeed - with just a few minor surface traces of wear and rubbing here and there, particularly in the base of the baskets as shown in the photos.
 
The piece measures 14cms high.

The basket retains a little more than half of its original canework on the handle. This is extremely unusual and has always been missing in the only other examples I have seen. This could easily be restored or removed to make a truly sensational display piece. Either way this piece represents a fantastic investment opportunity for the serious collector.
 
Stamped marks - 'Hukin and Heath' and model number '2223' and 'Designed by Dr. C Dresser'. 

The final photo shows another signed twin-welled basket (identical except for missing canework), which appeared among the lots in a major London auction dedicated to Dresser in 2004 (see Christie's The Harry Lyons Collection, 19/10/04). It sold for £1792 (with buyer's premium).

Paypal is accepted and I do not add a surcharge to cover their fees. UK buyers only may also pay by cheque or postal order. If it's a cheque, please allow 7 to 10 days for it to clear.
