Championship Manager 07's astonishing attention to detail includes most of the tournaments and competitions from around the world. In the English league for example, there's the FA Cup, Community Shield, League Cup, Vans Trophy and the FA Trophy. Choose a Turkish team and you can compete in the Turkish cup and, in Spain, there's the Copa del Ray to compete for. All up the game includes around 154 competitions. There are 26 leagues and 6,000 clubs in the game, of which 3,000 are playable. Every player in every club is accurate as of the end of the transfer window in August. Data will be locked out in mid-September so everything will be accurate up until then. All of the backroom staff are accurate and up-to-date too, including the managers, chairmen, talent scouts.As for the game itself, wannabe managers start the new campaign at the beginning of the '06-'07 season, during the pre-season run-up to the Community Shield. Building a strong team during the summer transfer window is therefore of paramount importance. As in real-life, managers in the game have the support of the club's backroom staff - all of which are accurate, of course - so they can call on the scouts to track down the hottest players on the transfer list.
