This amplifier is made by Linear Amps UK and is a masterpiece of engineering. This example is in excelllent condition. It has been well looked after and comes with the original handbook and is boxed.
The Challenger uses 2 x 3CX800A7 ceramic triode valves. There is a massive 2.2kVA transformer producing 2400V. Cooling is forced air from a Papst flatpack blower located just under the transformer. Soft start is fitted as standard and there is a start-up timer so you cannot operate the ampliflier until the valve has warmed up.
