Large Catholic Monstrance Style Cross RELIQUARY / RELIC HOLDER This is a large and impressive reliquary! It measures 17 1/2" tall. It reminds me of looking at a monstrance. Its very heavy - made of Church quality polished brass metal. The top part is very elaborate with ornate metalwork and a polished cross on top. There is a beautiful sunburst design behind the reliquary holder. I've included lots of pictures so that you can see how beautiful it is. The chamber which holds the relic / theca is 2 3/4" across, and 1 1/2" deep. It has a glass front with a circular viewing area of just over about 2" across. If your relic is smaller, you would just use a piece of velvet or satin (or any nice fabric) around it to frame the relic and hold it in place. A reliquary is the proper way to display and venerate the holy relic of a Saint, Our Lord, The Virgin Mary etc. Its in perfect condition.
