Carlton Ware Diamond Shaped “Lettuce” Dish

Pale-green Carlton Ware plate in the “curled lettuce” series in the shape of a diamond,  9½ inches long by 5½ inches at the widest point.  The 1 inch deep bed of this bright glazed dish is decorated with chevrons; at either end a moulded stylized lettuce leaf overhangs the rim.

Backstamped with the Australian registered design number 15689 The impressed shape number 1367 dates from 1935/6

No chips, cracks or repairs. Some light crazing commensurate with age and some brownish discolouration under the glaze (see photograph).
